This work delves into the personal histories of the men from the village who served during the First World War, focusing on those whose names are commemorated on the village war memorial. Each individual’s story is brought to life, highlighting their backgrounds, families, occupations, and the circumstances of their enlistment and service. Alongside those who made the ultimate sacrifice, the study also explores the experiences of several men who survived the war. Through these narratives, the study not only honours their bravery but also provides a window into the impact of the war on the village community, weaving together stories of loss, resilience, and the enduring legacy of the conflict in the village’s history.
