The first available Parish register for St. John the Baptist Church, Armitage begins with the baptism of Gulielmus (William) Wood on 5th April 1673. The existence of a few Bishops Transcipts covering 1623-1626 and 1663-1666 shows that there must be a previous register but it has now been lost.
For the records up to 1900, transcriptions have been taken from the 1947 Staffordshire Parish Registers Society publication supplemented by transcribing records on Findmypast. Records after 1900 are transcribed from the original Parish Registers held at Stafford Record Office.
